MELBOURNE utility Bernie Vince will miss the rest of the season after injuring his shoulder on Saturday afternoon.

Playing for Casey Demons, Vince hurt his AC joint in a contest during the first quarter against Sandringham at Casey Fields.

The 32-year-old was helped from the field immediately and didn’t take any further part in the match.

Vince was taken to hospital on Saturday afternoon. He will undergo surgery on Sunday to repair his AC joint.

Casey Demons ran out 21-point winners to record their 12th consecutive victory.

Casey will take on Box Hill in its final home and away game of the season next week.
