IT’S THE COACH’S turn to look back in time, as Simon Goodwin reveals his Top Five Retro Moments, brought to you by Zurich.

No.5 – Alex Jesaulenko, you beauty

It will go down as one of the greatest grabs of all time, with the commentary to match.

Alex Jesaulenko took flight against the Pies in 1970, creating an iconic memory in Aussie Rules football.

No.4 – Lethal Leigh

Leigh Matthews was as tough as they come, and even the behind post was too fragile to get in his way.

The brutal Hawk collided with the post in 1982, and the woodwork came off second-best.

No.3 – Blighty’s torp

It may be the biggest match winner in the history of the game.

Malcolm Blight marked seconds before the siren against the Blues and went back from miles beyond the arc to slot an incredible barrel through the big sticks.

No.2 – First taste of success

In 1997, a young Simon Goodwin achieved the ultimate for the first time, winning a premiership with the Crows by 31 points.

Goodwin fondly remembers the day, as Darren Jarman was the hero with six big goals.

No.1 – Ablett flies over CEO

Gary Ablett could do just about anything on the footy field, but his one-handed mark caused controversy in 1994.

He may not have held it for long enough, but Goodwin was happy to highlight the club’s CEO Gary Pert who had Ablett sitting on his head.
