MELBOURNE has three players in the AFL players’ 2018 22under22 fan-voted team, which includes Clayton Oliver as vice-captain.
Along with Oliver, who was named All-Australian on Tuesday night, Angus Brayshaw and Christian Petracca were also named in the team.
Brayshaw was named on the wing, while Oliver was named centre and Petracca was named on the interchange.
Oliver, Brayshaw and Petracca have been critical in Melbourne making its first finals series since 2006.
Brisbane Lions (Alex Witherden, Harris Andrews and Eric Hipwood), Collingwood (Jordan De Goey, Tom Phillips and Jaidyn Stephenson) and Essendon (Andrew McGrath, Conor McKenna and Zach Merrett) also had three representatives each.
Fremantle’s Sean Darcy and Ed Langdon, Richmond’s Dan Butler and Jayden Short and Sydney Swans’ Isaac Heeney and Ben Ronke were also selected.
And Crow Tom Doedee, Blue Charlie Curnow, Saint Jade Gresham and Bulldog Marcus Bontempelli, who was named captain, also featured in the side.
