OVER 150 coaches and trainers from local leagues were recently given the opportunity to soak up the knowledge of the Club’s coaches and trainers in two intimate forums.

As a part of the Club’s commitment to promoting and developing Australian Rules Football at a grassroots level , the ‘Coach the Coach’ and ‘Train the Trainer’ forums were conducted to provide an insight into the best practice of each area at an elite level.

The coaching forum was hosted by Jade Rawlings, Paul Satterley, and Andrew Nichol, who spoke candidly about their experience as coaches and what they have learned. Danny Urbinder from nutrition partner Bioceuticals also spoke to the group about the direct correlation between individual health and the performance of a player.

Coaches of all ages and experience encompassing Auskick to TAC Cup level enjoyed the forum and the chance to gain new knowledge.

The ‘Train the Trainer’ session was hosted in a familiar area for all trainers - the change rooms. The session was run by Club physiotherapist Sam Pietsch, accompanied by trainer John Stanaway and Club doctor Andrew Schenker.

Trainers from a range of local leagues discussed diverse topics, ranging from strapping techniques to on ground injury situations, and different post game recovery methods.
