FORWARD line development coach Paul Satterley looks back on the Melbourne-listed players who played in Casey’s loss to Werribee on Saturday
Lucas Cook - 9 disposals, 4 marks and 2 goals Given the low Inside 50 entries, Cooky was competitive and took a couple of really strong contested marks. He had a good battle with Kyle Hartigan.
Tom Couch - 27 disposals and 4 tackles.
Tom worked hard all day in a side soundly beaten by the opposition midfielders. His work in congestion and around the contest was really positive.
Troy Davis - 13 disposals and 6 marks
Troy struggled early to negate the likes of Nathan Ablett, Majak Daw and Cameron Pedersen. On a positive note, he kept trying his best to the final siren.
Jack Fitzpatrick - 14 disposals, 6 marks, 34 hit outs and 2 goals
In a return to senior football, Jack's involvements were impressive. He held some strong marks and finished off much better in front of goal.
Jordan Gysberts - 14 disposals
Had very little influence on the game, showed glimpses of his recent form, however overall we expected more from Jordan.
Neville Jetta - 8 disposals
It was great to have Nev playing again after a long-term injury. His agility in traffic is a real strength. He looked good when he had it and will only get better with more games. His eight disposals were quality.
Cale Morton - 26 disposals
Although Cale had a high number of possessions, he was not as influential on the game as we would expect of him.
Ricky Petterd - 19 disposals
Ricky didn't impose himself on the game as much as he can. He played in bursts. His match fitness should now enable him to significantly improve.
James Strauss - 14 disposals
A positive, James continues to move freely and his quality use of the ball is improving. Defensively, he did get led to the ball on occasions. Like many of his teammates with games under his belt, James should now be ready to increase his output.
Josh Tynan - 12 disposals
He suffered minor concussion after going back with the flight and getting crunched. That one effort seriously stood out. He is a brave young man.
Leigh Williams - 12 disposals, 4 marks and 2 goals
We were impressed with Leigh's game. He competed, won some good one on ones and used his body much better. He was a good contributor.
Tom McDonald will miss the next one to two weeks with a lung injury, while leaders Mark Jamar and Nathan Jones will face fitness tests in the lead-up to round 1
