Tim Lamb, Melbourne AFL List Manager, commended the 19-year-old’s transition to the elite level and his willingness to grow.

“We’re really thrilled that Koltyn has signed on with us for the next few years; he has seized every challenge thrown at him in his first season and has already grown tremendously.

“We can all see the talent he possesses, but his work ethic is what will see him continue to improve. He is a great teammate and has quickly won the respect of everyone at the club.

“He’s really embraced the Melbourne values since his arrival.  It is another great sign for our club that such a talented young player has committed long term.”

Drafted at pick number 13 in the 2023 AFL Draft from Esperance, WA, the midfield bull made his debut in Round 6 against Brisbane.

Tholstrup’s new contract comes as a flurry of Demons have put pen to paper, including Daniel Turner, Caleb Windsor, and Harrison Petty.
