KEY FORWARD Chris Dawes remains a chance to play against St Kilda in round 13, following Melbourne’s bye this weekend.
Dawes suffered an ankle injury during the second quarter of Melbourne’s 83-point loss to Collingwood at the MCG on Monday and was substituted for Luke Tapscott in the second half.
But football manager Josh Mahoney said Dawes would be monitored closely in the lead-up to the June 22, Saturday twilight clash against the Saints at the MCG.
“Scans today (Tuesday) showed a mild, high ankle sprain,” he told melbournefc.com.au.
“Chris will wear a boot for the next week and train early next week.
“He is still a chance to play against St Kilda in our next game, if things settle as expected.”
Dawes has played five matches for the Demons, since joining at the end of last season.
He has endured a tough first season, having missed seven weeks earlier in the year with a hamstring injury.
