MELBOURNE could see the return of Ben Brown in Round 5.

Club doctor Laura Lallenec provided an update on the tall forward, with Brown’s aim to complete the group’s main training session on Wednesday.

“He obviously didn’t play last week and that’s given his back a nice time to recover,” Lallenec told Melbourne Media.

“He’ll look to full train tomorrow and will hopefully be available for selection this weekend.”

Michael Hibberd, who was subbed out of the game on Sunday with Achilles soreness, is expected to join the group’s main training on Wednesday, with the aim to be available for selection this weekend.

Taj Woewodin may make a surprise return to the field this weekend, the 20-year-old completing his five weeks of rehab with a finger injury.

“He’ll see the surgeon later this week, have a check x-ray and if all looks good, will put his hand up for selection,” Lallenec said.

Young Demon Kye Turner missed the footy action on the weekend, ruled out with a minor groin injury. He’ll spend another week on the sidelines as he continues to work towards a return to play.

Max Gawn (knee), Joel Smith (thumb), Christian Salem (knee) and Will Verrall (pelvis) are all making positives strides in their respective rehab programs.
