The ‘Demons Safety Day’ provided an opportunity for the education centre to thank all the families in the City of Casey who support the centre by participating in school and holiday programs.
With more than 150 people in attendance, the day was filled with fun family activities, including a CFA fire engine and the CFA smoke house, free hire of bikes to ride around the village, handball competitions and a free sausage sizzle, supplied by the Casey Demons supporter group.
Matthew Bate was in attendance to officially open the train lines that were donated to the safety village earlier this year, and to sign plenty of autographs for all the Demons fans who attended!
The Casey Road Safety Education Centre and CFA Learning Centre deliver road and fire safety educational programs to all kindergarten and primary school children, and is a mini version of Victorian roads.
The aim of the centre is to educate all sectors of the community about road safety, in a safe, fun, controlled and positive learning environment.
The CFA Learning Centre is a simulated home environment, delivering a fire safety educational program by trained CFA personnel.
The program is designed to enable students to demonstrate strategies that deal with unsafe or emergency situations.
