THE AFL has announced that Melbourne's Round 1 match against Adelaide has been relocated to Glenelg Oval.
AFL General Manager Women’s Football Nicole Livingstone said the decision to move the Grand Final rematch is based on the deterioration of the turf at Norwood Oval after recent significant rain in the area.
“We want to make sure this Grand Final rematch is played in the best possible conditions. After multiple inspections and consideration, we’ve decided to move the game to Glenelg Oval due to the quality of the playing surface at Norwood Oval," Livingstone said.
“Thank you to all the fans who have already purchased their tickets to what will be a great game of football - we look forward to seeing you all at Glenelg Oval on Friday night."
Fans who have already purchased their tickets will be able to access Glenelg Oval with their existing tickets. For those wanting to get amongst the Round 1 action - secure your tickets at womens.afl/tickets.
