A THIRD-quarter interaction between Dayne Zorko and Harrison Petty created headlines after Melbourne’s 58-point win on Friday night.

It was reported that the Lions’ skipper made a comment that upset Petty on the field, but an apology has since been made.

Melbourne’s GM of AFL Football Performance, Alan Richardson, praised the home side for their care post-game.

“The club’s really comfortable with where it sits right now,” Richardson said.

“We think the apology after the game was sincere and the follow-up from the Brisbane Footy Club has just been really impressive.

“They’ve spoken to us often, they’ve expressed their remorse for the comments that were made, so as far as we’re concerned it’s finished.”

Importantly, Petty, who was at the centre of the issue, is also comfortable with the situation after Round 23.

“Petts is in a good spot,” Richardson said.

“He was pretty good last night – he’s got the support of his teammates around him.

“We’ve all put our arms around and he’s fine.

“But most importantly, he felt that Dayne’s apology after the game was real, it was authentic, it was a bit like the Brisbane Lions Footy Club.

“They owned it and they apologised so he’s moved on.”
