IF there was any doubt that Geelong star Patrick Dangerfield was the recruit of the season before round 12, he dispelled that with a phenomenal performance against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
The Cat should probably be awarded all six Brownlow medal votes after dominating the Kangaroos, and he was easily the first man picked in the AFL's Team of the Week, brought to you by Accor Hotels.
Dangerfield is one of four Geelong players to make this week's side, with captain Joel Selwood, Daniel Menzel and Harry Taylor giving the Cats the most representatives in the League this week.
Greater Western Sydney's huge win over the Sydney Swans also saw four Giants picked, with defenders Heath Shaw and Phil Davis, young midfielder Josh Kelly, and lively forward Toby Greene all outstanding.
Adelaide trio Rory Laird, Eddie Betts and Rory Sloane made the 22, while the Western Bulldogs, Richmond, Melbourne and St Kilda had two players picked, and Fremantle, Hawthorn and Gold Coast gained the one selection.
DALE MORRIS (Western Bulldogs) – While the Dogs' defence has been wrecked with injury, Morris has been in brilliant form, and had a staggering 13 sacrificial acts against Port.
PHIL DAVIS (Greater Western Sydney) – Had the better of his important duel with star Swan Lance Franklin, and constantly outpointed the Coleman Medal leader in one-on-one contests.
RORY LAIRD (Adelaide) – The small defender had 25 touches at 84 per cent efficiency and 10 marks as the Crows produced a stunning comeback win over the Eagles in Perth.
BERNIE VINCE (Melbourne) – Had a game-high 42 possessions across half-back and through the midfield for the Demons, and constantly repelled Collingwood with 11 rebound 50s.
HARRY TAYLOR (Geelong) – The veteran had 21 possessions and took 11 marks in defence as the Cats kept North's three talls Drew Petrie, Ben Brown and Jarrad Waite to two goals between them.
HEATH SHAW (Greater Western Sydney) – Rebounded from a couple of quiet games to hurt the Swans, winning the Brett Kirk Medal for best on ground thanks to his 25 possessions and 10 marks.
JOSH KELLY (Greater Western Sydney) – One of many emerging stars at the Giants, the classy left-footer had 27 disposals against the Swans and drove the ball inside 50 seven times.
PATRICK DANGERFIELD (Geelong) – Danger had 48 touches, 23 of them contested to go with 13 marks, 13 clearances, 11 inside 50s and two goals. If that's not a complete game then what is?
JACK STEVEN (St Kilda) – St Kilda's best player this season was too quick for Carlton, and finished the day with 25 touches, nine tackles, 10 inside 50s and three goals.
DANIEL MENZEL (Geelong) – With power forward Tom Hawkins out due to suspension, Menzel stepped up and overcame a rolled ankle to kick four goals to help the Cats down the ladder-leading Kangas.
TOM LYNCH (Gold Coast) – Another fantastic effort from the young forward, who kept the Suns in it against Richmond with his 10 marks and four goals opposed to All Australian defender Alex Rance.
TOBY GREENE (Greater Western Sydney) – Booted another four goals to take his season tally to 23 from 11 games, and added 21 possessions and seven inside 50s.
MATT TABERNER (Fremantle) – Finally delivered on the promised he's showed over the past two seasons, and kicked a career-best five goals in Freo's demolition of the Lions.
TIM MEMBREY (St Kilda) – The strong-marking Saint helped cover the loss of skipper Nick Riewoldt with 10 marks and five goals in the Saints' upset win over the Blues.
EDDIE BETTS (Adelaide) – Strengthened his claims for another All Australian jumper with five goals against West Coast, taking his tally to 33 for the year.
MAX GAWN (Melbourne) – Laughed off the Pies' attempts to tag-team him, finishing with a career-high 27 touches and three goals, as well as 31 hit-outs.
MARCUS BONTEMPELLI (Western Bulldogs) – The gun Bulldog continued his outstanding form with 29 possessions, 18 of them contested, nine clearances and two goals against the Power.
DUSTIN MARTIN (Richmond) – Another stunner from the powerful midfielder, who grabbed 38 possessions, two goals, six clearances and eight inside 50s for the Tigers.
JOEL SELWOOD (Geelong) – Probably best on ground any other week, the skipper had 38 disposals, five tackles and eight clearances, and is clearly enjoying playing alongside Dangerfield.
RORY SLOANE (Adelaide) – West Coast had no answer to Sloane's hardness around the contest, with the onballer racking up 29 disposals, nine clearances and laying six tackles.
TRENT COTCHIN (Richmond) – After recovering from a midweek stint in hospital, Cotchin had an inspirational 12 last-quarter touches and showed enormous leadership against the Suns.
JORDAN LEWIS (Hawthorn) – The veteran Hawk had a night out against the struggling Bombers, with Lewis picking up a game-high 35 disposals at 80 per cent efficiency on Friday night.
