THREE Demons have been recognised for their efforts during Melbourne's 10-point win over North Melbourne, with Karen Paxman leading the way, polling nine AFLCA votes.

The Melbourne midfielder was a ball magnet during the Saturday night game at Casey Fields, racking up a total of 28 disposals, 16 kicks and 12 handballs.

Her impact didn't stop there, with Paxman kicking the Demons' second goal of the night and putting the home side in good stead at the first break.

Lily Mithen was also influential during the win, her 28-disposal game resulting in five AFLCA votes.

Mithen's pressure and attack through the middle saw her also register six tackles, her high energy no doubt creating a headache for the North Melbourne midfield.

Shelley Heath was the last Demon to receive recognition, following her lockdown defence work on Roos' captain Emma Kearney, restricting her to just 11 possessions, Kearney's lowest number of disposals for the season so far.

North Melbourne's Ashleigh Riddell and Jasmine Garner were the remaining players to receive votes for the Round 8 game.
