INS – Mithen, Gay
OUTS – Caris, Tarrant (omitted)

THE DEMONS have made two changes to their side as they prepare for their blockbuster clash against Adelaide this weekend.

The Saturday game, set to be Melbourne’s first interstate match of the season, will see the return of Lily Mithen and Maddi Gay, following their stints on the sidelines under the AFL’s Health and Safety protocols.

Making way is Maggie Caris and Brenna Tarrant (omitted), with Caris and Ali Brown making up the team’s emergency list for the match.

The game, which will take place at Norwood Oval in South Australia, is expected to be the clash of the round with both sides currently undefeated for season 2022.

The Demons will be looking for redemption following their 18-point loss to the Crows in last season’s Preliminary Final, which saw their finals campaign come to an end.

Melbourne’s GM of AFLW Marcus Wagner said earlier in the week that the club was looking forward to challenge that Adelaide presented.

“It’ll be a great opportunity to test ourselves against one of the benchmark sides in the competition,” Wagner told Melbourne Media.

“We encourage all of our SA-based members and supporters to come along. Hopefully we get a great crowd and a great atmosphere at Norwood Oval, for what is going to be a high-quality game of football.”

The Crows will be using the home game to celebrate Pride Round, donning their 2022 Pride guernseys and while the Dees won’t be pulling on their Pride guernsey due to a jumper clash, they will be debuting their Indigenous away strip, designed by Demon Krstel Petrevski.

To help acknowledge the Pride Round, the two sides will be running out in a joint banner to signify the league-wide support and recognition of those in the LGBTQIA+ community.
