CLAYTON Oliver has polled the most AFL Coaches Association votes for Melbourne in his side’s clash against Geelong on Saturday night.
The midfielder collected eight votes after finishing with a career-high 40 disposals, 20 of which were contested, and six tackles in the two-point defeat.
Geelong’s Tom Hawkins was judged best afield with ten votes.
Key tall Tom McDonald, who finished with 16 disposals and four goals, was awarded two votes, while midfielder Christian Petracca received one vote for his 22 disposals, eight tackles and one-goal effort.
Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield (five votes) and Tom Stewart (four votes) were deemed the coaches’ other picks.
Despite not polling any votes to add to his tally (71 votes), ruckman Max Gawn remains at the top of the leaderboard. Patrick Cripps (Carlton) and Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn) sit behind him on 68 votes, while Oliver’s recent haul moves him up to 53 votes.
