In: Harmes
Out: vandenBerg (Omitted), Sparrow (Medi-sub)
MELBOURNE will head into its Round 19 clash against the Bulldogs with just one change to its starting 22.
James Harmes, who was unable to play last week due to an ear infection, will return to the side.
Making way is Aaron vandenBerg, while Tom Sparrow, who was the unused medical sub in Round 18, has been named as an emergency.
He’s joined by Sam Weideman, Toby Bedford and Joel Smith on this week’s list.
The Demons were originally scheduled to face the Gold Coast Suns in Darwin this week, but due to changes in the COVID-19 situation, will now play against second-placed Western Bulldogs in a top of the table clash.
Coach Simon Goodwin told press on Wednesday that Melbourne was ready for its short notice game with the Dogs.
“Clearly two teams at the pointy end of the ladder and it’s going to be a great game,” Goodwin said.
“These are the type of games that you look forward to as a footy club.”
Unfortunately, due to the current restrictions in Victoria, there will be no crowds permitted at Saturday night’s game.
