COACH Dean Bailey says his players are champing at the bit to take on reigning premiers Collingwood in Monday’s clash at the MCG.

Bailey spoke of Melbourne's readiness at a joint media conference with Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy at AAMI Park on Friday, where the two coaches promoted the clubs' respective Queen's Birthday clashes.

He said the Demons are relishing their next challenge, on the back of their 33-point win over Essendon at the ‘G last Friday night.

“The Queen’s Birthday game for us is a real pivot point in the middle of the year for us,” Bailey said.

“The guys look forward to it and we’ve got something to prove on Monday, considering we were good on Friday.

“The next contest is what we’ll get judged on, so we’re keen to get the game going on Monday.”
