IN: Harmes, Petty
OUT: Baker (omitted), Jones (omitted), Tomlinson (knee)
MELBOURNE has added James Harmes and Harry Petty to its side for Round 8, making two changes to the 22 that defeated the Kangaroos last Sunday.
Petty’s spot in the Dees’ line-up became available after Adam Tomlinson suffered an ACL injury last weekend, while Harmes’ inclusion comes at the expense of Oskar Baker who has been omitted.
Nathan Jones has also missed selection after playing as the medical sub in Hobart.
Saturday night’s clash with Sydney will be Harmes’ second senior outing this season, after injuring his wrist in Round 1.
Petty has also played just the one game to date in 2021, with a total of 12 career matches under his belt.
The 21-year-old key defender will benefit from playing alongside Steven May, who he replaced in Round 5, as well as Jake Lever, who is chalking up game No.100.
Melbourne’s medical sub will be chosen from its four-man emergency list: Jones, Sam Weideman, Tom Sparrow and Kade Chandler.
The players not selected in the Demons’ best side this weekend won’t be playing at VFL level after Casey’s scheduled clash with the Swans was postponed.
