AFL CHIEF Executive Gillon McLachlan on Wednesday announced total AFL Club membership has exceeded one million members so far in season 2021.

The million-member mark surpasses the total 2020 number of 992,854 members during the COVID affected season. The all-time record of 1,057,572 was set in 2019.

The announcement comes as the AFL has also advised Victorian clubs that reserved seat members can return to their reserved seats at Victorian stadiums from Round 9 onwards.

As stadium capacities in Victoria currently sit at 85% for the MCG, and 75% for Marvel Stadium, GMHBA Stadium and Mars Stadium in Ballarat, the AFL has worked with the authorised ticketing agents Ticketek and Ticketmaster, along with the venues and Victoria State Government to reconfigure the current seating arrangements.

For reserved seat members, accessing the game in Round 9 will be slightly different and will require scanning in via the Melbourne Football Club app (instructions further below).

For general admission members (no reserved seat), reserved bay members (with no specific reserved seat) and the general public, fans will still need to register for a ticket via the authorised ticket agent – Ticketek  – to ensure their details are registered to attend the match.

On-sales for both Rounds 9 and 10 will begin on Tuesday May 11 for AFL Members and home club members and Wednesday May 12 for away club members and the general public.

Accessing your reserved seat using the app

To comply with government approved COVID Safe measures, Melbourne Reserved Seat Members will be able to scan into the MCG using the Melbourne Football Club app on iPhone and Android devices.

Your tickets will be made available in the app two days prior to each game.

Instructions to access your Mobile Membership are below:

  1. Download the app on your iPhone or Android device.
  2. On the main menu of the app, select 'MORE.' This will be located in the bottom right corner.
  3. From the navigation menu, select 'Mobile Membership'
  4. Log-in to your My Demons account
  5. Select the match you would like to attend (this will be available two days prior to each game)
  6. Select 'View Barcode' to view your ticket or add to your Apple Wallet or Passbook for later use.
  7. On you barcode note of the gate to use for entry into the MCG.
  8. Scan into the game using this barcode.
