MELBOURNE is pleased to announce a new partner, with Torrens University joining the club for at least the next three years.

A private higher-education provider, Torrens University will be the Official Education Partner of the Demons and will provide tertiary education opportunities for their AFL and AFLW players, coaches, staff and members.

The partnership will also see students connect with the club, in-line with Torrens University’s integrated learning approach, and look to offer professional industry placement in students’ chosen fields.

Torrens University Chief Commercial Officer Jerome Casteigt said the provider was thrilled to be teaming up with Melbourne, for what will be a pairing of mutual benefit.

“Our partnership with the Demons allows for the growth and development of players, staff and members, to pursue a flexible and quality education,” he told Melbourne Media.

“An exciting part of the partnership is that the Melbourne Football Club has a key focus for our student integrated learning opportunities, offering our students valuable industry experience, enabling them to graduate and be job ready.”

Melbourne Chief Executive Officer Gary Pert was equally as delighted to be welcoming Torrens University to the club.

“As you learn more about Torrens University, you get a sense of the priority they place on their students and their commitment to their learning environments,” he told Melbourne Media.

“At Melbourne, we pride ourselves on our ability to teach and develop our staff and players, and ensure what they learn can be applied in real life.

“It’s this shared drive to continually grow and learn that makes this partnership so well aligned.”

Torrens University has 12 campuses across Australia, as well as one in Auckland and China, with over 19,000 enrolled students.

The university provides specialised undergraduate, graduate, higher degree by research and specialised degree programs across a wide range of disciplines.
