Every parent (or grandparent) will know that there can be extra challenges when bringing a junior supporter to the ground, so we’ve rounded up some of the best tips and tricks to make the day a little bit smoother.

What’s on for the kids?
Make sure you arrive at the game early to explore all the activities on the concourse from 11.15am. With inflatables, slot cars, photo opportunities, Zurich mini golf, a DJ truck, silent disco and face painting on offer, there’s something for Demons of every age.
There’s also collectable posters and team photos being handed out around the concourse , so keep your eyes peeled for the friendly Melbourne staff.
The first 1000 kids in the kids zone will be able to grab a limited edition Clayton Oliver playing card.
During the game, there will be plenty on with kid-friendly games, dancing and music between the action on-field.
Can you take a pram?
Strollers that can be folded and stored under your seat are welcome at the MCG.
Prams, or larger strollers that cannot fit under your seat must be cloaked for the duration of your visit to the MCG. Where possible, it’s recommended to leave prams and larger strollers at home.
A baby carrier can be a great addition to keep kids feeling safe and secure and your hands free to cheer on the mighty Dees.
Are there changing facilities at the ground?
There are a number of parents’ rooms and bathrooms containing baby change tables around the ground. You can check out the list here for full availability.
What are the food options?
There’s a huge variety of food and drink options to satisfy any fussy eaters, located across all levels. You can check out the full list here.
Visitors are also welcome to bring food and drinks into the ground. There are water refill taps located around the arena, so it’s encouraged to bring your own water bottles.
Can I leave the ground during the game?
If you have wriggly kids that struggle to sit for the duration of the match, pass outs are available.
There’s a playground located next to Jolimont Station, or it’s a fun tradition to bring a footy for kick-to-kick outside the ground.
It’s also handy to know that there’s a Sensory Space accessible from inside Gate 3, behind bay M51.
Are there any bag limits?
Bags must be small enough to fit under the seat, otherwise, they must be cloaked. Feel free to bring tablets or devices, toys, colouring, games, and anything else that can assist in entertaining your little one if they don’t have the attention span for a full match.
Headphones can be handy either to watch some Bluey, or just to dull down the roar of the crowd if it’s sensory overload.
Don’t forget hats, sunscreen, a blanket and a scarf – this is Melbourne after all!
The Dees Shop!
And if you do forget something, or you need some new colours to wave during the game, The Demon Shop will be open from 11am – 1 hour post Siren on Brunton Avenue, directly under light Tower 4 with lots of fun merch for kids.
The MCG has great advice for families visiting, so check out their site if it’s your first time with smaller fans.
