Box Hill Hawks 10.12 (72) d Casey Scorpions 9.16 (70)

Dom Barry:
Dom found a bit of space and won 20 possessions. He also took four marks. He had an opportunity late in the game to put the side in front and unfortunately just missed after working hard to get forward. It was a positive return to the side after missing a week with injury.

Troy Davis: Troy returned to Casey after a couple of games experience in the AFL side. He was used in defence for the entire game as Box Hill had a number of key tall forwards to negate. Troy finished with seven marks, including five intercept marks (four in the last quarter).

Max Gawn: Max backed up his previous game with another strong performance. He had 19 disposals, 10 marks, 31 hit outs and contributed with his defensive efforts, including some very strong tackles. Max was instrumental in ensuring Casey was a chance to win the game.

Tom Gillies: Tom was selected as a forward for the first time this season and he proved to be very useful. He took a number of contested marks, kicked three goals (including a set shot from the boundary late in the game) and also laid four tackles. Overall, it was a good effort.

Mark Jamar: This was Mark's first game since playing against Collingwood in Round 11. Mark spent time in the ruck and as a forward. He finished with 13 disposals, seven marks, 27 hit outs and kicked 1.2. More importantly, he got through unscathed.

Neville Jetta: Neville played a consistent four quarter game. He played with speed and continually took the opposition on. Defensively he was very good, competed in the air, laid some important tackles and won or neutralised his one on one contests.

James Magner: Jimmy spent time between the midfield and the forward line and was solid all day. He kicked an excellent goal when the side needed a spark in the third quarter. Jimmy led the team for defensive acts, which complemented his 22 disposals.

James Sellar: James played a very good, reliable game in defence. He had 19 possessions, eight marks with five spoils was a positive contribution. Both James and Neville were the two defenders who created most of the team's offensive ball movement from half-back.

Rory Taggert: Rory started forward before going into the midfield in the second half. He had 12 disposals and five marks, but was quiet late in the game.

Josh Tynan: Josh played on the wing. His attack on the ball was a positive however he had just the 13 touches and gave away too many free kicks.
