MELBOURNE has unveiled its 2021 coaching and football panel, with the club’s new additions coming together at Casey Fields on Monday.
Senior coach Simon Goodwin was joined by the Demons’ new Head of Development, Mark Williams, alongside some familiar faces in Greg Stafford and Troy Chaplin.
Adem Yze, who will oversee Melbourne’s midfield, moved into his second week of training, while recently appointed Casey Demons VFL coach Mark Corrigan was also on deck.
The session was the first that all were in attendance, with General Manager of AFL Football Performance Alan Richardson excited by the group’s challenges ahead.
“It was great to have everyone at Casey today, really getting a feel for things,” he told Melbourne Media.
“We’re obviously pretty keen to get stuck into training and set some plans in motion. It’ll be a big summer, but one we’re all excited by.
“This week will give the new guys a chance to work closely with the younger players, and make sure they’re set for the Christmas break.
“Once we come back in the new year, they’ll be plenty in store for them.”
The unveiling of the new-look panel coincides with another signing for the club, with Haymes Paint recommitting for the 2021 season.
The long-term partner, who has been present on the club’s match football for the past six seasons, will now be seen across the coaches’ box and interchange bench.
Haymes Paint Strategy & Sales Director Tim Haymes said he was excited by the partnership extension, and to be branded on new club properties.
“The whole Haymes Paint family and wider business are thrilled to continue our partnership with the Dees and to freshen things up with some new logo placements,” he told Melbourne Media.
“Much like your house, we believe it’s important to keep things fresh and the coaches’ box and interchange bench branding opportunities allow for some great presence, via the match broadcast.
“It also allows us to reinforce our ‘Proudly Australian Owned and Made’ point of difference from our competitors.”
Haymes Paint is the only major paint manufacturers that remain Australian owned and its Ballarat-based manufacturing site and company-owned stores continue to employ hundreds across the country.
“We now have 45 Haymes Paint shops across the country, and combined with our 300 independent stockists, our network is bigger than ever and continues to grow,” Haymes said.
“Our long-standing partnership with Melbourne is one that has grown from strength-to-strength over the past six seasons and we can wait to tackle 2021 head-on together.”
