Dees turn to speed
Melbourne has opted for fresh legs this week, adding speedsters Oskar Baker, Toby Bedford, Jayden Hunt and Kysaiah Pickett to its 22.
The youngsters should add some spark to the forward half of the ground, with Michael Hibberd, Braydon Preuss and Aaron vandenBerg rounding out the seven big changes.
This should help the Demons run out the game off a four-day break, with all areas of the ground receiving a boost.
The ones that missed
After a taxing clash with the Swans, Angus Brayshaw (foot), James Harmes (hamstring) and Nathan Jones (quad) have all been sidelined for Round 16.
On top of the three forced changes, the Dees have omitted Mitch Brown, Oscar McDonald, Charlie Spargo and Josh Wagner, with a new-look line-up preparing to take to Cazaly’s Stadium.
What it means
With the race for the top eight heating up, a loss to Fremantle would just about end Melbourne’s finals hopes for 2020.
But a win on Monday night will set up a massive clash with the Giants next weekend, with just four points currently separating the two sides.
Look out for
Christian Petracca will celebrate game No.100 against Fremantle and will need to fire to get his side over the line.
The 24-year-old has had a breakout season to date averaging 24 disposals per game, but after a quiet night last Thursday, he will be eager to get back to his damaging best in the middle.
Oppo watch
While the Dockers’ season is effectively over, kicking a winning score against them is never an easy task.
Fremantle held Richmond to just four goals in the first three quarters last week, and it’s the fourth best defensive team in the competition.
