WILL the Demons opt to swing the axe after Thursday night’s 51-point loss to Port Adelaide, or will they keep their 22 settled ahead of Round 10?

There was no practice match for Melbourne’s reserves last weekend, but there are plenty of boys still putting up their hand for selection.

Take a look at the potential inclusions for the battle with Adelaide on Wednesday night.

Aaron vandenBerg

After having surgery on his cheekbone just two weeks ago, Aaron vandenBerg would have to prove his fitness in the lead up to the Crows clash, but should he be available, the 28-year-old would have to be a walk-up start to the side.

His physicality and presence around the ball has been missed, as vandenBerg makes his teammates walk taller on the field.

Adam Tomlinson

Melbourne recruited Adam Tomlinson for the run he can add to the wing, and right now, its lacking just that.

While Ed Langdon is doing the job on one side of the ground, Tomlinson may be called upon to help out on the other.

Alex Neal-Bullen

The Dees will face the dilemma of whether to select three tall forwards again this week.

With just 31 inside 50s against the Power, it would be harsh to omit Tom McDonald, Luke Jackson or Sam Weideman, but Alex Neal-Bullen could also pinch a small forward's spot, if selection fell that way.

Jayden Hunt

If the Demons were looking to add speed inside 50, Jayden Hunt is another option.

He hasn’t played a game during his time in the hub, but has the ability to add a different dynamic to the front half of the ground.

Joel Smith

Melbourne’s backline has been one of its most consistent lines so far this season, so making a change might not be necessary.

But Joel Smith is ready for his second chance, as is Mitch Brown who could play at either end of the field.

James Jordon

It would be unlikely that the Dees would select James Jordon the week after including fellow onballer Tom Sparrow, but this 19-year-old is one to watch.

He’s strong at the contest and continues to impress his coaches, so a debut couldn’t be too far away.
