Casey player review
Melbourne coaching staff assess the Melbourne-listed players who played for Casey against Collingwood at Victoria Park on Saturday
Matthew took some time to get into the game during the first quarter. However his work rate across the remainder of the game was very high. He played a good amount of time in the midfield and used his body well in contests. He was a sold contributor for the team.

Lucas Cook - 8 disposals (2 kicks, 6 handballs), 2 tackles
Lucas showed very pleasing work rate with a real purple patch in the third quarter. His football smarts enabled some great release handpasses and his intelligent kicking set up players for scoring opportunities. He nailed a crucial tackle at a critical time which was also a highlight.
Troy Davis - 14 disposals (12 kicks, 2 handballs), 6 marks
Troy was solid and reliable across the back line. He did some courageous acts running with the flight of the ball to spoil and mark. He was very composed with his disposals coming out of the back half. His body work and physicality in the conditions were a highlight.
Jack Fitzpatrick - 13 disposals (8 kicks, five handballs), 3 marks, 2 tackles, 18 hit outs, 1 goal
Jack played most of the day as a forward, but spent time in the ruck. He led very well all day and used his athleticism both offensively and defensively. He created multiple shots at goal and was a consistent performer across the four quarters.
Jordan Gysberts - 16 disposals (10 kicks, 6 handballs), 1 mark, 5 tackles
Jordie covered a lot of ground and worked very hard to put himself in the game. He was heavily shadowed by the opposition, but was still effective in providing drive for the team. He is working hard on providing attacking options away from stoppages.
Brent Moloney - 23 disposals (16 kicks, 7 handballs), 5 marks, 4 tackles
Brent was an influential player around the stoppages amassing a good amount of the ball. He covered a lot of ground, getting back to help out defenders and creating numbers around the ball. He linked well out of defence. His long kicking in poor conditions was a stand out.
Jai Sheahan - 22 disposals (19 kicks, 3 handballs), 4 marks, 1 tackle
Played deep in defence and swept across half-back line with good effect when Casey was kicking with the wind. He used his kicking and running skills to his advantage.
Josh Tynan - 11 disposals (9 kicks, 2 handballs), 4 marks, 3 tackles, 2 goals
Josh made the most of his opportunities. He kicked two goals that showed his class. He was quick to get ball to boot and executed this very effectively. He played mostly half-forward and showed his intent with his attack on the ball and man. It was a solid game from Josh overall.
