THE CLUB is currently taking part in the Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation’s (ALNF) Wall of Hands Literacy appeal, which aims to close the literacy gap of Indigenous communities.

Currently, four out of five indigenous children can’t read. The Wall of Hands campaign is asking people to put their hands up, in order to change this statistic.

Liam Jurrah and Neville Jetta have both put their hands up to make change, and ask that you, too, support this worthy cause. By donating as little as $5 to the Wall of Hands, you can provide learning materials for children in need.

Through the Read and Write Like a Demon program, the Melbourne Football Club is committed to improving literacy rates in many schools, including rural Indigenous schools like Ali Curung.

As a nation, if we reach the appeal target of $300,000, ALNF could open literacy programs in two new communities, helping them to reach a whole new group of children with their award winning programs.
