The Melbourne Football Club has re-drafted forward Michael Newton and ruckman John Meesen with its only two selections in the 2009 Rookie Draft.
The Club delisted Newton and Meesen in November, with the aim of re-drafting them as mature age Rookies.
At the time of their delistings, the Club advised both Newton and Meesen that, subject to their not being selected by any other AFL clubs in the National or Pre-Season Drafts, the Demons would draft both players in the Rookie Draft.
Newton and Meesen continued to train with the Club throughout this period.
