RECENTLY, the Melbourne Football Club’s Community Department spent two weeks in the City of Casey, visiting over 20 kindergartens and prep classes as part of the Kinder Kick program.
Kinder Kick is a fun introduction for four and five year olds to AFL, and gives children a footy day experience which they otherwise wouldn’t experience in kinder or prep.
Demon mascot Chuck played kick to kick with hundreds of kids, as well as posing for photos to celebrate ‘footy colours’ days.
Kinder teacher Erin from Bowen Street was thrilled with the Kinder Kick program. “Having an AFL club come to our kinder is fantastic. The kids love the packs they have been given, and we really appreciate the Demons coming to visit. Our kids are very active, and have loved having visitors playing footy with them."
Each child who participated in Kinder Kick was given a lunch cooler bag and the opportunity to have a photo with Chuck.
