Door opens for Demon Jetta
Jack Trengove's upheld three-week suspension has opened the door for pacy midfielder Neville Jetta
JACK Trengove's upheld three-week suspension has opened the door for pacy midfielder Neville Jetta to play his third game for the season.
The 21-year-old has been added to the Demons' 22 for Saturday's clash with North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium after the club optimistically named Trengove in Thursday night's team, pending his tribunal appeal.
After the appeal failed and Trengove's suspension remained intact, the Demons resubmitted their team with Jetta upgraded from the emergency list.
Jetta last played seniors in round two but has been on the cusp of selection for a few weeks and has been named to start on the bench.
Nominated rookie Michael Newton has taken Trengove's place in the starting 18.
Newton will play his first senior game for the season and will pinch-hit in the ruck with Stef Martin to take on the No.1 big man duties in the absence of Mark Jamar.
The Demons have now made four changes to their side from last week with Newton, Jetta, Martin and Jamie Bennell included in the line up.
Jamar (knee) and Jack Grimes (foot) are out with injuries while Matthew Bate has been omitted.
Trengove will now miss the Demons' next three games and won't play again until their June 3 Friday night clash with Essendon at the MCG.
Ruckman Max Gawn has been added to the emergency list for Saturday's match against the Kangaroos.
The Roos have made two changes with Lachie Hansen returning from a back injury and Aaron Edwards recalled while Liam Anthony and Cam Pederson have been omitted.
