DEMON young-gun Jack Trengove said Monday’s draw against Collingwood at the MCG was a “weird feeling” and something he had never experienced at any level in football.

Trengove said he didn’t know how to react once the Demons and Pies tied on 76 points each - Melbourne 11.10 to Collingwood 9.22.

“It’s mixed of whether we were lucky or unlucky, but we can’t do much about it now,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“You don’t know what to feel really. You’re not sure if you were unlucky or lucky in the end, but you can always take positives out of it and we’ll look to do that.”

“It was good that we showed a bit more fight this week and in the end, we should’ve come away with the win.

“Hopefully we’ll come up with a better result against the Crows in two weeks time.”
Playing in front of a crowd of 67,454 was also something Trengove had never experienced before, but the 11-gamer said it can only benefit his development.

“In the last quarter at some point, it was just going crazy and we couldn’t believe it - you’re still pinching yourself and it’s amazing to play in front of that crowd,” he said.

“There is nothing better than playing in those really close games and you learn so much more from it. You’re always thinking ‘if only I did this a little better’.

“Hopefully this will hold me in good stead for future games and future close games especially.”

Although Collingwood had 10 more scoring shots than Melbourne, the outstanding young midfielder said the team was still frustrated not to record its fifth win of the season.

“You’ve got to be disappointed when we had plenty of chances there in the end,” Trengove said.

“They also probably should’ve put us away earlier, so to come back like we did was a great effort.

“But you can’t be happy with just the two points; you’re there to win the four points.”
