MELBOURNE has finalised its numbers for 2013, with rookie Nathan Stark to wear No.49 and Mitch Clisby to don No.50.
No.49 was worn by James Magner in 2012, but he has now claimed No.22 for 2013.
Former Demon Jai Sheahan had No.50 this year.
Clisby’s No.50 will be the highest worn number by a Demon in 2013.
Stark, 18, was recruited from Glenelg after being selected by Melbourne with its first pick (No.3 overall) in the NAB AFL Rookie Draft.
He impressed in this year’s NAB AFL under-18 championships, averaging almost 19 disposals per match.
Stark is a hard-at-it midfielder with good decision-making skills. He is also a strong tackler.
Clisby, 22, originally came from New South Wales, but was drafted with Melbourne’s second and final pick (No.19 overall) in the Rooke Draft from North Adelaide in the SANFL.
A running half-back, he was initially overlooked in the 2008 drafting period, but flourished under the tutelage of former Port Adelaide star Josh Francou at the Roosters.
Clisby played much of his junior football in Broken Hill with Adelaide star forward Taylor Walker.
