Rohan Bail: Rohan has been given some big jobs this season and has done some great work. He copped a slight knock early, which slowed him down. But he continued to focus on the job at hand and although he was probably beaten on the day, he got another game under his belt and gained further experience from playing on an elite player in the competition.
Clint Bartram: Clint had another even game. He defended really well one-on-one and once again provided some hardness at the ball. He’s been in really good form in recent weeks and this is because of his work-rate and his intensity.
Jamie Bennell: Jamie’s in the team to tackle and chase and he plays his role each week. He missed two opportunities to kick goals which would have allowed him to have more impact on the game.
Aaron Davey: Aaron hasn’t had the impact that he would’ve liked. He must continue to work hard at the basics. He was the small forward who put a patent on forward pressure and he needs to continue to focus on this area of his game. With continued hard work his form will improve.
Lynden Dunn: Lynden was our sub. He came on for Jordan Gysberts and kicked a goal. He was physical and played his role with limited opportunities.
James Frawley: James has found it difficult to regain the outstanding form he had last year, on the back of an interrupted pre-season. The positive is that he got another game under his belt and with the clear objectives he has been given, I’m sure he’ll bounce back and his fortunes will turnaround very quickly.
Colin Garland: Col was probably our best player against West Coast. He played in front and provided some great rebound off half-back.
Brad Green: Brad continues to work hard and put himself in the right spots. He isn’t having the impact he would like at the moment but as with all true champions, he continues to work at the little things that he knows will get his form to where he wants it to be. An exciting game is not far away.
Jack Grimes: Jack had a solid game. He defended really well and provided some great run out of the backline. He notched up a team-high 27 disposals.
Jordan Gysberts: Jordie fumbled a little bit, after coming off some solid form. He needs to continue to work on his physicality and his involvement in the game.
Mark Jamar: Russian battled hard against two giants for West Coast - Dean Cox and Nic Naitanui. Mark had 27 hit outs and influence the game with his tap work in the ruck. Russian is in very good form and continues to lead by example in the midfield.
Nathan Jones: Nathan produced another solid game. He’s playing his role for the team and having an impact because he is working really hard on the training track and sticking to his task on match day.
Liam Jurrah: We need Liam leading up to the ball and putting pressure on and kicking goals. When Liam’s working hard in the forward line, we’re a much better team and we need to make sure he continues to work hard at these aspects of his game.
Stef Martin: Stef played numerous roles - down back, up forward and in the ruck. He must continue to impose himself on the game, so the team gets more benefit from what he does.
Brent Moloney: Beamer didn’t have as big an impact on this game, as opposed to his performance against Gold Coast and his season so far. But he always leads from the front with his intensity, so I know he’ll be itching for this week’s game against Adelaide.
Cale Morton: Cale needs to continue to focus on the little things in his game, which will help improve his form. He also needs to continue to focus on the defensive side of his game. We need to him to continue to work hard and put pressure on the opposition with his tackling and chasing.
Jared Rivers: Jared was solid, without being outstanding. He was involved in some good one-on-one contests and was one player who switched the ball really well.
Colin Sylvia: Col played numerous roles and was in-and-out of the game. He must continue to impose himself on the game and concentrate on his ball use
Luke Tapscott: Luke was solid and continues to gain valuable experience week-in-week-out on the elite smalls in the competition. He used the ball very well from half-back.
Jack Trengove: Jack was used in several positions and provided some good run-and-carry out of the backline. He also used the ball well. Jack’s starting to build some good form which is really important for our midfield and team.
Jack Watts: Jack had his best game for the year. He really attacked the ball hard in the air and used it really well. He took a big step forward.
Austin Wonaeamirri: We need Aussie’s work rate to improve, because he’s an important player for us. He must continue to tackle and chase and put pressure in the forward line. Still, he got another game under his belt.
