KEY DEFENDER James Frawley must complete this week’s training schedule to play in Sunday’s twilight match against Hawthorn.

The 2010 All-Australian didn’t play any pre-season matches or the opening round of the season against Sydney Swans, after injuring a pectoral muscle in January.

But if he can pass a fitness test this week, Frawley will play against the Hawks.

“James Frawley will need to complete all sessions this week,” general manager of football Chris Connolly told melbournefc.com.au.

“His rehabilitation and preparation has been outstanding thus far.

“There is an expectation that he will be available to play in the senior team this weekend, however the final decision will rest with the match committee.”

The Dees will still be without Cale Morton (hand) for another match; Tom Scully (knee) and Jordie McKenzie (groin) will miss three and five weeks respectively.

Ruckman Robert Campbell (achilles) remains sidelined for 6-8 weeks and youngster Troy Davis (thyroid disorder) is still being monitored.

Versatile tall Jack Fitzpatrick (foot) and first-year duo Jeremy Howe (ankle) and Kelvin Lawrence (hand) will undergo fitness tests.
