Vic Metro U18 coach David Dickson says: Straussy is an interesting character. The year before [this year] he missed out on the squad and he was pretty emotional about it, but he was only 17 years old at the time. He's very much a running player like a half-back flanker who sets up very well and he's got excellent skills on both sides of his body. He can play midfield and he can go forward and kick goals, but we played him on a half-back flank and his run from there was exceptional. He's a classy player.

What sort of player are you?
I played most of my footy this year off the half-back line. I swap in the midfield every now and then at Oakleigh. I'm a running type player.
Strengths?
My strengths are probably my athleticism and my kicking.
Weaknesses?
My consistency throughout a game; I get lost in a game for half a quarter.
Which AFL team do you support?
St Kilda.
Which AFL player do you feel you most resemble?
Probably Robert Harvey and Simon Black. I've got good endurance.
