OUTSTANDING young midfielder Tom Scully has been charged with a first offence for making negligent contact with an umpire during the fourth quarter of Melbourne's match against Fremantle.
 
Scully can accept a $900 sanction with an early plea.
 
As outlined by the match review panel, a first offence for making negligent contact with an umpire carries a $1200 sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent, to a $900 sanction.

The match day report against Ricky Petterd for striking Fremantle player Ryan Crowley was assessed.

The Panel stated that the force used was below that required to constitute a reportable offence.

No further action was taken.
