LIVEWIRE forward Liam Jurrah will play his first match of the season, after Melbourne made four changes for Saturday’s twilight clash against Sydney Swans at the SCG.

The Demons have also recalled former skipper Brad Green, speedster Sam Blease and forward Jack Watts, after the match committee reacted to Melbourne’s 66-point loss against Hawthorn at the MCG last Friday night.

Going out of the side are the versatile Rohan Bail, forward Ricky Petterd, midfielder Matthew Bate and big man Jack Fitzpatrick.

Tall Lynden Dunn, utility James Sellar and Bail are the emergencies.

Football manager Josh Mahoney said Jurrah was a welcome inclusion.

“Liam has played the last two games at Casey and he has been able to build up his fitness base over the last month,” he said.

“He’s played the past two games at Casey and shown some good form and we’re excited about having him back in the team.”

Mahoney said Green, Watts and Blease had worked hard to earn their spots back in the side.

“Brad has recovered very well from his finger injury and will add some experience to the side,” he said.

“Jack has played very well for Casey over the past two weeks and he is benefitting from the extra work he is doing to take his game to another level.”

“Sam has performed consistently well at Casey and has worked hard on aspects of his game to earn a recall.”

Jurrah has played the past two matches for Casey in the VFL, after returning from a wrist injury sustained pre-Christmas.

His inclusion caps off a big week, after he attended a contest hearing at AFL House on Thursday, following a much-publicised off-field incident earlier in the year.

Green returns after a frustrating start to the season.

After playing in the opening two rounds, he was dropped for the first time since round 19, 2003.

He played for Casey and suffered a finger injury, missing the next three matches, before playing for the Scorpions last weekend.

Watts is also back after a two-match stint in the VFL.

The 2008 No.1 NAB AFL Draft pick played in the opening five matches of the season, ending a 42-game consecutive streak.

Blease will play his second match this season after featuring in round one. He has since played for Casey.
