LAST TIME WE MET

Round 4, 2023 | Hawthorn v Narrm @ Kinetic Stadium
It was a one-sided affair when these two teams last met, with Narrm taking the win by a whopping 59 points at Hawthorn’s home of Kinetic Stadium.

While the Hawks have bolstered their team in 2024 with new recruits and young talent, they were still a fresh side last season, just their second year in the competition. The Dees piled on their experience early in the Round 4 match, kicking four goals to none in the first half.

Eden Zanker was dominant up forward with three goals while Tyla Hanks was at her best in the contest with 26 disposals and 10 score involvements.

A six-goal second half saw the Dees run away with the game, Hawthorn able to score just the one goal via Aine McDonagh. When the fnial siren sounded, Narrm's win was sealed at 10.10 (70) to 1.5 (11).

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Shelley Heath |Melbourne
Last week, Heath reached a career-high 14 tackles, a dominant display in affecting the possessions of star midfielder Monique Conti. It’s this type of role that the defender is best known for and this strength will be important when the Dees face the Hawks on Thursday.

It’s locking down Hawthorn’s scoring that will be key, which is not limited to their forwards, with midfielders sharing the load in front of goals this season. If Heath is able to work alongside her fellow defenders in shutting off this impact, than Narrm will be in with a chance of the four points.

Eliza West | Hawthorn
The former Demon has been impressing in her new colours for 2024, reaching career-high numbers and making a clear impact in the Hawthorn side.

She’s currently averaging 22 disposals and 14 contested possessions – top four in the league. Coming up against her old side, there’s no doubt that West will be looking to put on a show and will have her work cut out for her against the likes of Olivia Purcell and Tyla Hanks.
