Davey could resume in the early match at Skilled Stadium on Saturday, when Casey takes on Geelong.
He will face a fitness test later in the week, along with Tom Scully (knee), Joel Macdonald (knee) and Clint Bartram (hip).
Rookie Michael Evans has a back injury and it is yet to be determined how long he will be sidelined.
Dasher Rohan Bail (knee) remains out for two matches and tall Michael Newton will miss a further 2-3 weeks with a foot injury.
Leader Jack Grimes (foot) and ruckman Jake Spencer (knee) will miss the rest of the 2011 season.
