MELBOURNE will open the 2011 NAB Cup with an away clash against Adelaide Crows at AAMI Stadium, before backing up immediately with a match against Port Adelaide.

The Demons will play the Crows and Power on Friday, February 11, under a revamped, lightning premiership-style NAB Cup.

Adelaide and Port Adelaide will then meet in the third match in pool one.

Next year’s NAB Cup has been revamped, with six pools competing in the pre-season competition.

Each match will run for 40 minutes.

- Essendon, the Brisbane Lions and St Kilda at Etihad Stadium, February 18 (Friday night)
- Greater Western Sydney, Sydney Swans and Gold Coast at Blacktown Olympic Park, February 19 (Saturday night)
- Geelong, North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs at Skilled Stadium, February 20 (Sunday afternoon)
