MELBOURNE dynamo Aaron Davey is set to return against Fremantle at Subiaco Oval this round after he served a one-match club suspension for 'unprofessional preparation' in the lead-up to the club's stirring win over the Brisbane Lions in round 14.
Coach Dean Bailey confirmed on Tuesday that Davey was almost certain to return.
"If Aaron trains well this week, we'll find a spot for him in our 22. He's an important player for us, Aaron, so I'm sure his name will be in the in column on Thursday night," Bailey said.
Davey had attended a funeral in Darwin and once he had played against the Lions, he volunteered the information to the club's leadership group that his preparation was not of a professional standard.
