TALL timber trio MARK Jamar, James Sellar and Tom McDonald will face fitness tests in the lead-up to Saturday’s clash against Fremantle at Etihad Stadium.

Jamar has missed the past two matches with a calf injury, while Sellar (thigh) and McDonald (lung) were sidelined last round.

Football manager Josh Mahoney said the Demons were hopeful of having the big men return this round.

“All three players will be monitored throughout the week. If they are able to get through the main training session, they would be considered for this week’s game,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“Mark has missed the last two games with a calf injury and we are hopeful that he will be able to play.

“Since Tom has arrived back at the club, he has gradually increased his workload. If this continues and he gets through the main training session, he will be a chance to play this week.”

Second-year rookie Michael Evans is also a chance to play his first match for the year. He will be tested after being unavailable due to a back injury.

Goalkicker Liam Jurrah is still another two weeks away with an ankle injury.

First-year Demon Josh Tynan is a chance to return from concussion, while rookies Jai Sheahan (ankle) and Kelvin Lawrence (calf) will miss the next two matches.

Defender Clint Bartram and ruckman Max Gawn are out for the rest of the season with knee injuries, while youngster Rory Taggert (back) is out indefinitely.
