Coming back in the side is Aaron Davey, Joel Macdonald, Clint Bartram, Tom Scully and Max Gawn.

Davey and Macdonald return after both suffered knee injuries.

The vice-captain missed nine matches and Macdonald four, but both returned for Casey against Geelong last round.  

Scully is back after a two-match absence with a knee injury. The classy young midfielder has been troubled by the injury this year, having missed the opening nine rounds.

Bartram returns after being on the cusp of selection in recent weeks. A hip injury has also hindered him in the second half of the season.

And big man Gawn, who impressed in rounds 11, 12 and 13, is back in the side due to the absence of Jamar.

It will be Todd Viney’s first match as senior coach, after the departure of Dean Bailey, following Melbourne’s 186-point loss to Geelong at Skilled Stadium - the second greatest losing margin in VFL/AFL history.

Viney will coach Melbourne for the rest of the season.
