Jack Viney eager to take on next challenge
By Jay Clark
FUTURE Melbourne midfielder Jack Viney will apply to play VFL for Casey this season to help fast-track his football development. The 17-year-old ball magnet, who the Demons have pledged to draft father-son in November, remains eligible to play under-18s in the TAC Cup for Oakleigh. But Viney is eager to mix it with the men ahead of schedule, after consulting with Melbourne chiefs. "I'm always looking for a challenge, always looking to improve myself and get better," he said. "So I see that as being the next step to challenge myself with the bigger bodies and even if my body doesn't pull up - I know where I need to get to. "I am still happy to play with Oakleigh (in the TAC Cup), but if I have the opportunity to play VFL I'll definitely take that option."
