Melbourne will visit Wonthaggi/Phillip Island as part of the 2012 AFL community camps
MELBOURNE will visit Wonthaggi/Phillip Island as part of its 2012 AFL community camp.
The Demons will head to the region from February 13-14.
The AFL announced the locations for the 2012 Australia Post AFL community camps, after the West Coast Eagles kicked off the first community camp in Broome last November.
The camps will see more than 800 AFL players take the game to regional and rural communities across Australia.
AFL players will conduct training sessions and visit schools, nursing homes and hospitals.
National and international development general manager Andrew Dillon said with 18 AFL clubs, the AFL’s reach is now even wider.
“The annual camps are a highlight of the year for many football fans that don’t have the opportunity to see their football idols every week during the season,” he said.
