James Frawley: Chippa had a terrific game. He smothered a very important player in Schulz, while providing aggressive rebound. He continues to open up the game with terrific run and carry off half back.
Colin Garland: Col got caught behind in the early stages of the game. Once he adjusted, his positioning was much more effective, and his pressing up and spoiling were highlights. This helped to build his confidence, and his ball use was fantastic, with 93 per cent effectiveness.
Brad Green: Brad provided a good target early. He got involved when he went up the ground, and he contested well in the air and on the ground, a couple of quick goals helping the team to keep momentum in the third quarter.
Jordan Gysberts: Jordie won good ball very well in close. He continues to make good decisions with his hands, and is starting to feel like he belongs. He must continue to work on his spread both ways.
Jeremy Howe: Jeremy got to play a quarter, and his involvement and work rate were terrific. He tackled well, and continues to learn from each game.
Mark Jamar: While Mark had 37 hit outs, he was probably not as effective as we would have liked, and we didn’t get as much advantage out of his ruckwork. He’s not far away from a standout game, and needs to let himself go.
Nathan Jones: Jonesy was solid again, and good on the dangerous Pearce. He was still able to win his own ball, his pressure was good, and he kicked an important goal. He is in a very solid block of good form.
Liam Jurrah: Liam had an outstanding first half, with his movement and ball use creating many scores. Port Adelaide dropped defenders off to double teamed him in the second half which reduced his involvement in the game. Overall Liam was solid and is not far away from a standout game.
Addam Maric: Addam was very lively early, and kicked an important goal to get us going. He maintained his work rate and involvement throughout the game, and finished the day with three goals - a good game to build on.
Stefan Martin: Stefan contested very well in the ruck, helping to give us first use of the ball. His attack on the ball and his marking around the ground were both fantastic. His last quarter goal was really important, putting the game beyond Port Adelaide’s reach.
Jordie McKenzie: This was a typical hard working game by Jordie. He burrowed in, and reduced the effectiveness of Boak, while still being involved in the attacking side of the contest. He continues to play his role for the team, which his teammates really appreciate.
Brent Moloney: Brent won the ball in close, and played a typical hard working game. His leadership and direction were good, as was his voice and direction. Brent is doing a lot more work off the ball for his teammates, which is helping to develop our young midfielders’ games.
Cale Morton: Cale did some good things, and must continue to focus on positives. He fumbled a little bit, but must continue to back himself and work on the basics of the game.
Daniel Nicholson: Daniel was solid off half back, and continued to do the basics well. He provided good rebound, and his defensive positioning was very good. He’s continuing to build confidence with every game.
Ricky Petterd: Ricky was very lively up forward, and provided a terrific target for his teammates to use. He won the ball well one on one, as well as taking some good contested marks, and he hit the scoreboard with some important goals.
Jared Rivers: This was a solid game by Jared. He is in very good form. His defensive work was outstanding (ten spoils) and he is winning the ball very well at ground level. His switching out of defence, as well as his voice and his direction, were highlights.
Tom Scully: Tom was again tagged, this time by Kane Cornes, but still managed to cover plenty of ground. He looked very dangerous while spreading, and used the ball well on most occasions. I feel we lost a bit of momentum when he went off.
James Strauss: This was a quiet game for James, considering his recent form. He fumbled a bit in the conditions and didn’t win as much of the ball as in previous games, but will gain valuable experience from the game.
Colin Sylvia: It was a welcome return to form for Col. He had 25 disposals, took some strong marks, and provided a great connection between the back and forward lines. His ball use was good, as was his run and carry through the midfield.
Luke Tapscott: It was great to have Luke back in the team. He was a bit loose defensively early on, but his intensity and attack led to opposition turnovers, which helped us to score. He’ll definitely be better for the run.
Jack Trengove: This was another terrific game for Jack. He won the ball well and used it to the team’s advantage. His pressure and tackling were outstanding, as was his decision making and spread.
Jack Watts: It was a really hard working game by Jack - not pretty, but effective. He was a very good target off half back, and was involved in several passages of play where we scored. He continues to impose himself on the game and build on this good block of form.
