MELBOURNEfc enforcer Byron Pickett has been selected to play his first game of 2007 when he lines-up against Fremantle at the MCG. Pickett has spent the past weeks gaining match fitness in the VFL but is now ready to be unleashed onto the ‘G’ this weekend.

Both sides will be looking to register their first win of the year.

Cameron Bruce will play his 150th AFL game and is looking to continue the good form that has seen him average 30 possessions in his last two outings.

Key defender Jared Rivers also returns to the squad after missing last week with hamstring soreness. He will be joined by Travis Johnstone who is expected to play despite some media speculation to the contrary.

2006 Draftee Ricky Petterd has been selected on the extended bench along with Lynden Dunn who has recovered from a broken cheekbone.

Ben Holland and Ryan Ferguson have both been omitted.

MELBOURNEfc’s final selection will take place at 5:00 pm tomorrow.
