The first Young Gun Nomination for 2010 goes to Brad Arnold from the Hastings Football Club.
Brad commenced playing at Hampton Park in the Under 12s, where he also won the club’s Best and Fairest Award. He later transferred to Hastings Under 16s, where he played in a premiership, and was runner up in the Best and Fairest.
2010 is Brad’s first season as a senior player, yet he has played fourteen matches in the Seniors to date, with his first game there as a 16 year-old, while playing Under 18s. Brad even made an appearance for the Frankston Dolphins for one game.
Hastings senior coach, Glenn Michie, says that Brad has shown excellent maturity throughout the pre-season, and for this reason, he was awarded captaincy for one of the pre-season practice matches, and will be a regular senior player this year.
Glenn goes on to say that Brad’s passion and leadership skills are sensational. His commitment to training, his desire to improve, and his ability to lift teammates around him have been a great asset to himself and the Hastings Football Club.
Brad’s ambition is to play in a senior premiership at the Hastings Football Club, and to play football at the highest level possible.
