WITH uncertainty around the upcoming fixture and the requirements to complete the 2020 season, Melbourne has decided to fly the remainder of its playing group out of Victoria.
The Demons initially brought 33 players into their hub, with the remaining boys completing a second program back home, but GM of Football Josh Mahoney says now is the right time to join the full list together.
“Our decision to set up a Sydney and Melbourne hub was based on the information at the time, that we will be away for five games over a period of five weeks,” he told Melbourne Media.
“With the likelihood of more games being played over this period, we have been working with the AFL to allow for more players to join our hub.
“The AFL are working with the relevant governments to seek approval and appropriate quarantine requirements. We look forward to the full squad joining us when possible.”
