MAX GAWN was the best player on the ground according to the coaches in Round 6, polling nine votes in Melbourne’s 17-point win over Gold Coast.
The Demons skipper finished with 30 hitouts on Saturday night at GIANTS Stadium, while also managing 15 disposals, eight marks and six score involvements.
Gawn was joined by Christian Petracca in those recognised, with the midfielder receiving seven votes for his performance.
Petracca, who now sits 11th on the overall leaderboard, recorded 25 disposals, six clearances and two goals in the victory.
Jack Viney (four votes) and Clayton Oliver (two votes) also impressed, while Gold Coast’s debutant in Izak Rankine (four votes) and midfielder Charlie Ballard (four votes) rounded out those judged best afield.
